HISTORY OF THE AUSTRALIAN SCHOOLS RUGBY UNION

The Australian Schools Rugby Union (ASRU) has a history commencing in 1969 when the first Australian Schoolboys Team was selected to tour to South Africa. With over 50 years of history our archives are brimming with fabulous material.

The ASRU did not come into existence in a formal way until 1971 .

This history of ASRU is being written in themes and events to try to record the many activities over the years since.

The material covers more of the early years—but does include events across the years such as the Championships and involvement with the Pacific Islands. There is more to be written so be sure to check for updates.

This history is not complete—literally a work in progress—items will be added from time to time—items will be altered if additional information arises.
